The sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

ואלין שמהת בני גרשום לבני ושמעי:
wshmey lbny grshwm bny shmhth walyn
The sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.

ובני קהת עמרם ויצהר וחברון ועזיאל:
wezyal wkhbrwn wytshr emrm qhth wbny
The children of Amram: Aaron, Moses, and Miriam. The sons of Aaron: Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

בני מררי מחלי ומשי ואלין זרעית ליואי לאבהתהון:
labhthhwn lyway zreyth walyn wmshy mkhly mrry bny
Eleazar became the father of Phinehas, Phinehas became the father of Abishua,

לגרשום לבני בריה יחת בריה זמה בריה:
bryh zmh bryh ykhth bryh lbny lgrshwm
Abishua became the father of Bukki. Bukki became the father of Uzzi.

יואח בריה עדו בריה זרח בריה יאתרי בריה:
bryh yathry bryh zrkh bryh edw bryh ywakh
Uzzi became the father of Zerahiah. Zerahiah became the father of Meraioth.

בני קהת עמינדב בריה קרח בריה אסיר בריה:
bryh asyr bryh qrkh bryh emyndb qhth bny
Meraioth became the father of Amariah. Amariah became the father of Ahitub.

אלקנה בריה ואביסף בריה ואסיר בריה:
bryh wasyr bryh wabysp bryh alqnh
Ahitub became the father of Zadok. Zadok became the father of Ahimaaz.

תחת בריה אוריאל בריה עזיה בריה ושאול בריה:
bryh wshawl bryh ezyh bryh awryal bryh thkhth
Ahimaaz became the father of Azariah. Azariah became the father of Johanan.

ובני אלקנה עמשי ואחימות:
wakhymwth emshy alqnh wbny
Johanan became the father of Azariah, who executed the priest’s office in the house that Solomon built in Jerusalem.

אלקנה בריה אלקנה צופי בריה ונחת בריה:
bryh wnkhth bryh tswpy alqnh bryh alqnh
Azariah became the father of Amariah. Amariah became the father of Ahitub.

אליאב בריה ירוחם בריה אלקנה בריה:
bryh alqnh bryh yrwkhm bryh alyab
Ahitub became the father of Zadok. Zadok became the father of Shallum.

ובני שמואל בוכרא ושני ואביה:
wabyh wshny bwkra shmwal wbny
Shallum became the father of Hilkiah. Hilkiah became the father of Azariah.

בני מררי מחלי לבני בריה שמעי בריה עזה בריה:
bryh ezh bryh shmey bryh lbny mkhly mrry bny
Azariah became the father of Seraiah. Seraiah became the father of Jehozadak.

שמעא בריה חגיה בריה עשיה בריה:
bryh eshyh bryh khgyh bryh shmea
Jehozadak went into captivity when Yahweh carried Judah and Jerusalem away by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.

ואלין דאוקים דויד על ידי שיר בית מקדשא משכנא דיי בזמן דאתחת ביה ארונא:

The sons of Levi: Gershom, Kohath, and Merari.

והוו משמשין קדם משכנא משכן זמנא בשירתא עד זמן דבנא שלמה ית בית מקדשא דיי בירושלם וקמו כד חזי להון על פולחנהון:
pwlkhnhwn el lhwn khzy kd wqmw byrwshlm dyy mqdsha byth yth shlmh dbna zmn ed bshyrtha zmna mshkn mshkna qdm mshmshyn whww
These are the names of the sons of Gershom: Libni and Shimei.

ואלין דקימין אנון ובניהון מבני קהת הימן משבחא בר יואל בר שמואל:
shmwal br ywal br mshbkha hymn qhth mbny wbnyhwn anwn dqymyn walyn
The sons of Kohath were Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.

בר אלקנה בר ירוחם בר אליאל בר תוח:
thwkh br alyal br yrwkhm br alqnh br
The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their fathers’ households.

בר צוף בר אלקנה בר מחת בר עמשי:
emshy br mkhth br alqnh br tswp br
Of Gershom: Libni his son, Jahath his son, Zimmah his son,

בר אלקנה בר יואל בר עזריה בר צפניה:
tspnyh br ezryh br ywal br alqnh br
Joah his son, Iddo his son, Zerah his son, and Jeatherai his son.

בר תחת בר אסיר בר אביסף בר קרח:

The sons of Kohath: Amminadab his son, Korah his son, Assir his son,

בר יצהר בר קהת בר לוי בר ישראל:

Elkanah his son, Ebiasaph his son, Assir his son,

ואחוהי אסף דאקים על ימינה הוא אסף בר ברכיהו בר שמעא:
shmea br brkyhw br asp hwa ymynh el daqym asp wakhwhy
Tahath his son, Uriel his son, Uzziah his son, and Shaul his son.

בר אתני בר זרח בר עדיה:
edyh br zrkh br athny br
As for Elkanah, the sons of Elkanah: Zophai his son, Nahath his son,

בר איתן בר זמה בר שמעי:
shmey br zmh br aythn br
Eliab his son, Jeroham his son, and Elkanah his son.

בר יחת בר גרשם בר לוי:
lwy br grshm br ykhth br
The sons of Samuel: the firstborn, Joel, and the second, Abijah.

ובני מררי אחיהון על שמאלא איתן בר קישי בר עבדי בר מלוך:
mlwk br ebdy br qyshy br aythn shmala el akhyhwn mrry wbny
The sons of Merari: Mahli, Libni his son, Shimei his son, Uzzah his son,

בר חשביה בר אמציה בר חלקיה:
khlqyh br amtsyh br khshbyh br
Shimea his son, Haggiah his son, Asaiah his son.

בר אמצי בר בני בר שמר:
shmr br bny br amtsy br
These are they whom David set over the service of song in Yahweh’s house after the ark came to rest there.

בר מחלי בר מושי בר מררי בר לוי:
lwy br mrry br mwshy br mkhly br
They ministered with song before the tabernacle of the Tent of Meeting until Solomon had built Yahweh’s house in Jerusalem. They performed the duties of their office according to their order.

ואחיהון ליואי ממנן לכל עבידת משכן בית מקדשא דיי:
dyy mqdsha byth mshkn ebydth lkl mmnn lyway wakhyhwn
These are those who served, and their sons. Of the sons of the Kohathites: Heman the singer, the son of Joel, the son of Samuel,

ואהרן ובנוי מסקין קטורת בוסמין על מדבח דעלתא ועל מדבח דקטורתא לכל פולחן קודשא דקודשיא לכפרא על ישראל ככל מה דפקיד משה עבדא דיי:

the son of Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Eliel, the son of Toah,

the son of Zuph, the son of Elkanah, the son of Mahath, the son of Amasai,

בקי בריה עזי בריה זרחיה בריה:

the son of Elkanah, the son of Joel, the son of Azariah, the son of Zephaniah,

מריות בריה אמריה בריה אחיטוב בריה:

the son of Tahath, the son of Assir, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah,

צדוק בריה אחימעץ בריה:

the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, the son of Israel.

ואלין מותבניהון לכפרניהון בתחומיהון לבני אהרן לגניסת קהת ארום להון הוה עדב פיצתא:
pytstha edb hwh lhwn arwm qhth lgnysth ahrn lbny bthkhwmyhwn lkprnyhwn mwthbnyhwn walyn
His brother Asaph, who stood on his right hand, even Asaph the son of Berechiah, the son of Shimea,

ויהבו להון ית חברון בארעא דבית יהודה וית פרוילהא חזרנותהא: :
khzrnwthha prwylha wyth yhwdh dbyth barea khbrwn yth lhwn wyhbw
the son of Michael, the son of Baaseiah, the son of Malchijah,

וית חקלי קרתא וית פצחיתא יהיבו לכלב בר יפנה:
ypnh br lklb yhybw ptskhytha wyth qrtha khqly wyth
the son of Ethni, the son of Zerah, the son of Adaiah,

ולבני אהרן יהבו ית קרוי שזבותא ית חברון וית לבנה וית פרוילהא וית יתיר וית אשתמוע וית פרוילהא:
prwylha wyth ashthmwe wyth ythyr wyth prwylha wyth lbnh wyth khbrwn yth shzbwtha qrwy yth yhbw ahrn wlbny
the son of Ethan, the son of Zimmah, the son of Shimei,

וית חלין וית פרוילהא ית דביר וית פרוילהא:
prwylha wyth dbyr yth prwylha wyth khlyn wyth
the son of Jahath, the son of Gershom, the son of Levi.

וית עשן וית פרוילהא וית בית שמש וית פרוילהא:
prwylha wyth shmsh byth wyth prwylha wyth eshn wyth
On the left hand their brothers the sons of Merari: Ethan the son of Kishi, the son of Abdi, the son of Malluch,

ומשבטא דבנימין ית גבע וית פרוילהא וית עלמות וית פרוילהא וית ענתות וית פרוילהא כל קרויהון תליסרי קרויא בגניסתהון:
bgnysthhwn qrwya thlysry qrwyhwn kl prwylha wyth enthwth wyth prwylha wyth elmwth wyth prwylha wyth gbe yth dbnymyn wmshbTa
the son of Hashabiah, the son of Amaziah, the son of Hilkiah,

ולבני קהת דאשתירו מגניסת שבטא מפלגות שבטא דמנשה בעדב פיצתא קרוין עסרא:
esra qrwyn pytstha bedb dmnshh shbTa mplgwth shbTa mgnysth dashthyrw qhth wlbny
the son of Amzi, the son of Bani, the son of Shemer,

ולבני גרשום לגניסתהון משבטא דיששכר ומשבטא דאשר ומשבטא דנפתלי ומשבטא דמנשה במתנן קרוין תליסרי:
thlysry qrwyn bmthnn dmnshh wmshbTa dnpthly wmshbTa dashr wmshbTa dyshshkr mshbTa lgnysthhwn grshwm wlbny
the son of Mahli, the son of Mushi, the son of Merari, the son of Levi.

לבני מררי לגניסתהון משבטא דראובן ומשבטא דגד ומשבטא דזבולן בעדב פיצתא קרוין תריסרי:
thrysry qrwyn pytstha bedb dzbwln wmshbTa dgd wmshbTa drawbn mshbTa lgnysthhwn mrry lbny
Their brothers the Levites were appointed for all the service of the tabernacle of God’s house.

ויהבו בני ישראל לליואי ית קרויא וית פרויליהון:
prwylyhwn wyth qrwya yth llyway yshral bny wyhbw
But Aaron and his sons offered on the altar of burnt offering, and on the altar of incense, for all the work of the most holy place, and to make atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.

ויהבו בעדב פיצתא משבטא דבני יהודה ומשבטא דבני שמעון ומשבטא דבני בנימין ית קרויא האלין דקרו יתהון בשמהן:
bshmhn ythhwn dqrw halyn qrwya yth bnymyn dbny wmshbTa shmewn dbny wmshbTa yhwdh dbny mshbTa pytstha bedb wyhbw
These are the sons of Aaron: Eleazar his son, Phinehas his son, Abishua his son,

ומגניסת בני קהת והוה קרוי תחומיהון משבטא אפרים:
aprym mshbTa thkhwmyhwn qrwy whwh qhth bny wmgnysth
Bukki his son, Uzzi his son, Zerahiah his son,

ויהבו להון ית קרוי שיזבותא ית שכם וית פרוילהא בטורא דבית אפרים וית גזר וית פרוילהא:
prwylha wyth gzr wyth aprym dbyth bTwra prwylha wyth shkm yth shyzbwtha qrwy yth lhwn wyhbw
Meraioth his son, Amariah his son, Ahitub his son,

וית יקמעם וית פרוילהא וית בית חורון וית פרוילהא:
prwylha wyth khwrwn byth wyth prwylha wyth yqmem wyth
Zadok his son, and Ahimaaz his son.

וית אילון וית פרוילהא וית גת רמון וית פרוילהא:
prwylha wyth rmwn gth wyth prwylha wyth aylwn wyth
Now these are their dwelling places according to their encampments in their borders: to the sons of Aaron, of the families of the Kohathites (for theirs was the first lot),

ומפלגות שבטא דמנשה ית ענר וית פרוילהא וית בלעם וית פרוילהא לגניסת בני קהת דאשתירו:
dashthyrw qhth bny lgnysth prwylha wyth blem wyth prwylha wyth enr yth dmnshh shbTa wmplgwth
to them they gave Hebron in the land of Judah, and its pasture lands around it;

לבני גרשום מגניסת פלגות מנשה ית גולן במתנן וית פרוילהא וית עשתרות וית פרוילהא:
prwylha wyth eshthrwth wyth prwylha wyth bmthnn gwln yth mnshh plgwth mgnysth grshwm lbny
but the fields of the city and its villages, they gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh.

ומשבטא דיששכר ית קדש וית פרוילהא ית דברת וית פרוילהא:
prwylha wyth dbrth yth prwylha wyth qdsh yth dyshshkr wmshbTa
To the sons of Aaron they gave the cities of refuge, Hebron, Libnah also with its pasture lands, Jattir, Eshtemoa with its pasture lands,

וית ראמות וית פרוילהא וית ענם וית פרוילהא:
prwylha wyth enm wyth prwylha wyth ramwth wyth
Hilen with its pasture lands, Debir with its pasture lands,

ומשבטא דאשר ית משל וית פרוילהא וית עבדון וית פרוילהא:
prwylha wyth ebdwn wyth prwylha wyth mshl yth dashr wmshbTa
Ashan with its pasture lands, and Beth Shemesh with its pasture lands;
60
וית חוקק וית פרוילהא ית רחוב וית פרוילהא:
prwylha wyth rkhwb yth prwylha wyth khwqq wyth
and out of the tribe of Benjamin, Geba with its pasture lands, Allemeth with its pasture lands, and Anathoth with its pasture lands. All their cities throughout their families were thirteen cities.

ומשבטא דנפתלי ית קדש בגלילא וית פרוילהא וית חמון וית פרוילהא וית קריתים וית פרוילהא:
prwylha wyth qrythym wyth prwylha wyth khmwn wyth prwylha wyth bglyla qdsh yth dnpthly wmshbTa
To the rest of the sons of Kohath were given by lot, out of the family of the tribe, out of the half-tribe, the half of Manasseh, ten cities.
62
לבני מררי דאשתירו משבטא דזבלון ית רמונו וית פרוילהא ית תבור וית פרוילהא:
prwylha wyth thbwr yth prwylha wyth rmwnw yth dzblwn mshbTa dashthyrw mrry lbny
To the sons of Gershom, according to their families, out of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.

ומעברא לירדנא דיריחו למדנח ירדנא משבטא דראובן ית בצר במדברא וית פרוילהא וית יהצה וית פרוילהא:
prwylha wyth yhtsh wyth prwylha wyth bmdbra btsr yth drawbn mshbTa yrdna lmdnkh dyrykhw lyrdna wmebra
To the sons of Merari were given by lot, according to their families, out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.

וית קדמות וית פרוילהא וית מיפעת וית פרוילהא:
prwylha wyth mypeth wyth prwylha wyth qdmwth wyth
The children of Israel gave to the Levites the cities with their pasture lands.
65
ומשבטא דגד ית ראמות בגלעדא וית פרוילהא וית מחנים וית פרוילהא:
prwylha wyth mkhnym wyth prwylha wyth bgleda ramwth yth dgd wmshbTa
They gave by lot out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, and out of the tribe of the children of Benjamin, these cities which are mentioned by name.
